What Do When Checking Your Matric Results

  • Technical glitches: While rare, unforeseen technical issues might delay the availability of some results online. If you encounter this, don't fret! Simply check with your school or centre for your statement of results.
  • Result queries: Within 30 days of the release date, you can submit queries if you have any concerns about your results.
  • Double-check your details: Ensure your names and ID numbers are accurate on your statement of results. Report any discrepancies to the Department before 21 February 2024.

Re-marking/Re-checking Your Script

Dissatisfied with your results? You have the option to request a re-mark or re-check of your exam scripts for a designated fee. Act fast! The deadline for applications is 2nd February 2024 (both manual and online submissions).

  • Fees: Be prepared for the associated costs. Re-marking incurs a fee of R120 per subject, while re-checking costs R29 per subject.
  • Viewing scripts: This option becomes available only after a re-mark or re-check. The application deadline for script viewing is 7 days after the re-mark/re-check results are released, and it carries a fee of R234.
  • Re-mark results release: Keep an eye out! Re-mark results will be available at your exam centre/school from 15 March 2024.

June NSC Exams: A Second Chance

Don't miss out! The application deadline for the 2024 May/June exams is 8 February 2024.

You can register for subjects you attempted in any previous November exams. Candidates who were absent for valid reasons (medical emergencies, family bereavement, etc.) from one or more November papers can register, provided they have valid marks for other components.

  • Any NSC candidate from 2008 onwards can retake the exams to improve their overall achievement or specific subject results.
  • Candidates absent for other reasons (except illness/injury or family death) can also apply if they have valid marks for other components.

Conclusion

Your Matric results are a significant milestone, but they are not the sole definition of your success. Explore your options with confidence, whether it's re-marking/re-checking scripts, pursuing the May/June exams, or embarking on alternative pathways like vocational training.

This is just the beginning of your journey. Take a deep breath, embrace the possibilities, and chase your dreams!

Good Luck.
