Our annual graduate program provides exciting career opportunities, including a one-year graduate induction program, site visits, personal effectiveness and technical training and provides significant responsibility early in their careers. 

Graduates gain valuable insight through mentors and working with industry experts with decades of experience and have the opportunity to build a global network of colleagues. 

Successful applicants to our graduate program gain experience in a number of areas such as production operations technical support, safety, health and environment. 

Graduates who worked with us during construction have either transitioned into production roles or moved onto other construction projects in PNG or internationally.

Prerequisites for PNG Power jobs

Have a GPA of 3.0 and above in their third and fourth year of studies

Have completed a degree program within the last two years or who are and eligible to graduate at a recognized university within PNG in 2014.

GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

PNG Power Ltd is a State Owned Entity corporatized under the Electrical Commission (Privatization) Act 2002 as the successor company to the Papua New Guinea Electricity Commission (ELCOM).  PPL is the only Electricity Company in PNG providing electricity for over 50 years.

PNG Power Ltd supports and provides equal employment opportunities to all Papua New Guineans. In order to maintain and attract a competitive workforce, PPL is re-advertising its 2-year Graduate Development Program. The program will include, an induction, on the job training rotation and permanent placement after the completion.

Our Graduate Development Program is designed to provide hands-on experience, training and mentoring in order to develop in-depth understanding and knowledge of your chosen area, in line with PPL’s vision and mission.

PPL will consider graduates in the following disciplines;

Graduates Eligible to apply must have the following pre-requisites

Qualifications

•    Have a GPA of 3.0 and above in their third and fourth year of studies

•   Have completed a degree program within the last two years or who are and eligible to graduate at a recognized university within PNG.

Skills and Personal attributes

•    Be between the ages of 18 and 25

•    Not be convicted of any criminal offence

•    Have a good character reference

•    Have strong leadership characteristics

•    Have good communication skills (Oral and Written)

•    Have the ability to work in a team/ team player
