When will Grade 11 selection Lists 2024 for 2025 PDF Come out?

The Department of Education (NDoE) has YET to release the Grade 11 selection Lists 2024 for 2025 PDF. The selection takes place immediately after the release of the Grade 10 Eaxm results. You can download the PDF files for Secondary Schools and National Schools of Excellence at the Department of Education website when the selection is complete.

Here is some information you should know as you anticipate the release of this year's Grade 11 selection list.

When will the Grade 11 selection list for 2024 for 2025 come out?

Last year, despite a one-week delay in the release of Grade 10 exam results, the Grade 11 selection lists were published relatively early. However, this year's Grade 11 selection process, initially scheduled for 4th - 8th December, encountered further delays due to the Grade 10 exam results. (Here is more information)

Rest assured, the Grade 11 selection, unlike previous years, will be completed within a week. Considering the time required to finalise the selection list and upload it to the Education Department website, expect the list to be published by mid-December.

Here are the past release dates compared to the 2024 Grade 11 selections and release date.

How does Grade 11 Selection Take Place?

Here is a brief of how the grade 11 selection takes place, starting with the students taking the exams until the release of the Grade 11 selection list in PDF.

The 6 pointers will help you to understand the selection process as you await the list to come out this year.

• 1. Students do the Grade 10 Exams in schools in the provinces.
• 2. Teachers mark the Grade 10 Students’ exam scripts in the provinces.
• 3. The provincial examination supervisor (PES) sends the marks to the Education Department in Port Moresby (MSD deals with the online Grade 10 results/marks).
• 4. MSD and General Education Services (a section of the National Department of Education) facilitate the selection.
• 5. Provincial reps, principals and education officers meet in the provinces and use the Grade 10 students’ final results to select the 2025 Grade 11 students for national and secondary schools in the country.
• 6. The education department published the Grade 11 selection 2025 PDF lists on its website.

How Do You Check Your Selection Status?

The students on the Grade 11 selection lists PDF are arranged by the Grade 10 School Leaver Number, SLF. Watch the video to find out how to, quickly, check your selection status using the SLF number.

PNG Grade 12 and Grade 10 2024 Exam Result and Selection Dates

As the 2024 Grade 12, 10 and 8 exams were completed in October and going into the marking phases in November, you may wonder what will happen next. Here are PNG Insight's latest updates relating to the Grade 12 and 10 exam results 2024 and Grade 11 and DHERST selections 2025.

Take note of the important dates between now and December 2024, especially the results and selection dates.

Grade 10 exam results and selections

As expected, the Grade 11 selection process in 2024 will commence shortly after the announcement of the results. Here's what to expect:

• Following the release of the Grade 10 exam results, the selection for Grade 11 and Grade 12 will be conducted.
• Grade 12 students will proceed to tertiary institutions for further studies.
• Grade 8 students will transition to Grade 9.

Other students may explore alternative options such as enrolling in FODE (Flexible Open Distance Education) or returning to their homes.

Grade 12 Exam Results (mypngexamresults.com)

Based on the past experience, the Grade 12 exam results for 2024 will be released by the Measurement Services Division of the Education Department to the Department of Higher Education Research Science and Technology (DHERST) by early December 2024. This will give ample time to DHERST to update the National Online Selection System (NOSS) for 2025 selections.

If you are a grade 12 student, it is important to check your results as soon as the results are available online so that you can make changes to your online School Leavers' choices. 

Usually, DHERST gives five days Grace Period for students to make adjustment/s before the National Online Selection kicks in.

Grade 12 DHERST Selections 2024

PNG Insight has been following the Grade 12 DHERST National Online Selection System (NOSS) since it started in 2017/2018 and knows that online selection is the best thing spearheaded by the former higher education secretary.

 

In the years 2020 & 2021, there were administrative errors that caused a lot of inconvenience. Some of you will remember that the selection lists were recalled, updated and republished - this should be avoided. 

 

NOSS is fast. It takes just hours for the selection to be done automatically online. The results can be available the next day.

 

As mentioned earlier, the Education Department will release the Grade 12 results to DHERST early in December 2024. (the exact date is yet to be confirmed). The higher education department will then verify the data from the education department before uploading it onto NOSS for the selection to take place. 

Grace Period - NOAS apply.dherst.gov.pg

For Grade 12 students, you will have five days to check your marks and make adjustments to your initial choices (and preferences) for the higher institution in the country. 

 

You will be using two (different) systems - one from the education department (NDoE) and the other from the higher education department (DHERST).

• To check your 2024 exam results, use the MyPNGExamResults website run by MSD. (MyPNGExamResults website - mypngexamresults.com)
• And to adjust your results, use the DHERST NOAS, National Online Application System. (DHERST NOSS platform - apply.dherst.gov.pg)

Also, Grade 12 and Grade 10 students can check their exam results using the MyPNGExamResults mobile app which could be downloaded via Google Play Store.

What DHERST say about the Grace Period 2024

DHERST emphasises that students should access their NOAS accounts during the grace period. This period is crucial as it is when students will begin making their choices based on their final grade 12 results. 

It is important for students to ensure that they log in to their NOAS accounts within the specified dates. 

During this time, if any of the five choices listed under "My Choices" are highlighted in red, it indicates that the student's final result does not meet the minimum program requirement set by the institution. 

In such cases, students are required to change the red highlighted choice to a different program available in their program list.

2024 Grade 11 Selections List PDF for MOMASE Region Schools (OUT NOW)

The 2024 Grade 11 selection lists for the MOMASE Region have not yet been released. However, you can download the PDF of the Grade 11 selection lists for all the schools in the MOMASE Region at the Education Department Website (www.education.gov.pg) once it is released. 

The Grade 10 exam results came out on the 8th of December 2023. PNG Insight understands that the secondary schools and national school of excellence selections are in progress in the provinces (East Sepik Province, Madang Province, Morobe Province and Sandown Province) and in Port Moresby, respectively.

2024 Grade 11 selections list for MOMASE Region

The 2024 Grade 11 selections list for MOMASE Region is the listing of the 2023 Grade 10 Students who are selected to the secondary schools in the following provinces:

• East Sepik Province
• Madang Province
• Morobe Province
• Sandown Province

In 2021, the Education Department released the final Grade 11 Selection Lists for 2022 two weeks after the Selection Committee finalized the selection process. However, in 2022, the selection list was released earlier on December 19th, due to the decision to conduct the selection process in the provinces instead of travelling to Port Moresby. This streamlined the process and allowed for faster dissemination of the Grade 11 selection lists.

The selection committee in each province entered the selection data online, and the final lists were submitted to Port Moresby for confirmation and publication. This year, the selection process will be conducted entirely online, further streamlining the process and ensuring timely release of the selection lists. • Update#4: 14.12.2023: Some Secondary School principals have released the Grade 11 selection list 2024 on their Notice Boards. Some lists are doing rounds on Social Media, too. That's fine, but make sure that those selection lists are OFFICIALLY SIGNED by the Education Secretary. If the secretary's signature is not on the lists (and dated), regard it as an UNOFFICIAL list.

2024 Grade 11 selections list for NEW GUINEA ISLANDS Region

The 2024 Grade 11 selections list for the NEW GUINEA ISLANDS Region is the listing of the 2023 Grade 10 Students who are selected to the secondary schools in the following provinces:

• AUTONOMIOUS REGION OF BOUGAINVILLE (AROB)
• EAST NEW BRITAIN PROVINCE
• MANUS PROVINCE
• NEW IRELAND PROVINCE
• WEST NEW BRITAIN PROVINCE.

In 2021, the Education Department released the final Grade 11 Selection Lists for 2022 two weeks after the Selection Committee finalized the selection process. However, in 2022, the selection list for 2023 was released earlier on December 19th, due to the decision to conduct the selection process in the provinces instead of travelling to Port Moresby. The online selection streamlined the process and allowed for faster dissemination of the Grade 11 selection lists. 

The selection committee in each province entered the selection data online, and the final lists were submitted to Port Moresby for confirmation and publication. This year, the selection process will be conducted entirely online, further streamlining the process and ensuring timely release of the selection lists.
